The leaders discussed ways to further strengthen Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance, as well as to expand cooperation and exchanges in priority areas.

Mirziyoyev highlighted that this state visit and the second session of the Council are taking place in a landmark year marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"Our relations have never reached such a high level in history as they have today," the Uzbek leader emphasized.

Both presidents noted the dynamic development of comprehensive cooperation at all levels. In this Year of Economic Cooperation, bilateral trade has grown by 25%, and the project portfolio has reached $4 billion.

During the visit, construction of the "Uzbekistan" Park in Baku will begin, and the new building of Uzbekistan’s embassy in Azerbaijan will be inaugurated.

The two sides agreed to continue practical cooperation across parliaments, governments, ministries, and regional administrations. They reaffirmed the importance of mutual support within international organizations.

Opportunities to increase annual trade and investment volume to $1 billion were discussed in detail. It was noted that a separate Cooperation Program is being adopted, which will include joint projects in industry, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, tourism, banking, and other sectors.

The leaders welcomed a 25% increase in the volume of Uzbek cargo transported through the transit corridor – over 1 million tons. Since March, electronic permits have been introduced for freight transportation, improving efficiency.

They also agreed to accelerate the development of a joint project to export electricity to Europe.

To mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties, the two countries will hold a series of joint cultural and youth events this autumn.

The heads of state also exchanged views on international and regional issues. Following the session, the two sides agreed to adopt a "roadmap" to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the agreements reached.
