Bishkek and Tashkent prepare for Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan

The foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan met in Bishkek to discuss preparations for the upcoming visit.

Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeenbek Kulubaev, met with his Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov, who arrived in the country on an official visit, 24.kg reported with reference to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting focused on concrete steps outlined in a phased plan for joint efforts to prepare for the upcoming state visit of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan. The specific date of the visit was not mentioned in the report.

The two sides also discussed all areas of Kyrgyz–Uzbek bilateral cooperation, exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues, and agreed on concrete measures to implement agreements reached at the level of the two countries’ heads of state and government, as reflected in the corresponding “roadmap.”

Cooperation within international and regional organizations – including the UN, CIS, SCO, OTS, and OIC – was also discussed. It was emphasized that such cooperation remains a key element of the partnership between the two states.

The foreign ministers confirmed their readiness to continue coordinating positions on key regional and global issues. They also identified promising areas for future cooperation and agreed on a plan for upcoming high-level events.
