According to the Ministry of Energy, the opening ceremony took place on August 1. The joint project was implemented by Uzbekistan’s state-owned company Regional Electric Networks and China’s Holley Technology.
The plant will produce transformers ranging from 25 to 3150 kVA for 6–10 kV distribution networks, as well as units from 100 to 2500 kVA for 35 kV networks. Holley Technology has equipped the facility with modern production technology.
The enterprise will have an annual production capacity of about 15,000 transformers of various capacities. More than 150 new jobs have been created at the site.
Holley Technology is part of Holley Group, which first presented its transformer production project several years ago in the Angren Free Economic Zone. In May 2024, the company also approved a separate project to develop a technopark for electrical equipment manufacturing in Tashkent Region.
Construction of the “Buyuk Ipak Yuli” (Great Silk Road) technopark began in February this year in Almalyk. In its first phase, the complex will cover 13 hectares and house an administrative building, logistics center, and workshops for manufacturing small refrigerators and transformers.
The technopark is expected to expand to 227 hectares and eventually include around 100 enterprises engaged in the production of electrical equipment, construction materials, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. Its combined annual export volume is projected to reach $120 million.
