A new government resolution titled "On Additional Measures to Improve Labor Migration Processes" has been adopted in Uzbekistan.
According to the resolution, starting from September 1, 2025, individuals deported for violating the laws of foreign countries, as well as those whose actions negatively impact Uzbekistan’s international image and reputation, will have their data recorded in the Unified Electronic Database on Migration Processes.
The following sources will contribute information to this electronic registry:
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, through its diplomatic missions and consulates abroad;
- The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, with data on individuals readmitted under international agreements;
- The Agency for External Labor Migration and its representatives abroad.
In accordance with international treaties and the regulations approved by Presidential Decree No. PQ-4079 "On the Procedure for Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Travel Abroad," readmitted individuals will not be provided with state services for the issuance of biometric passports for foreign travel for two years.
Exceptions for issuing such passports to readmitted individuals will be determined by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
For reference, readmitted persons are citizens who are voluntarily or forcibly returned to Uzbekistan under international agreements with other countries. In other words, if an Uzbek citizen remains abroad illegally, overstays their visa, or is deported and subsequently accepted by Uzbekistan, this process is referred to as readmission.
