Speaking at a public gathering in Shymkent, Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s firm commitment to the principles of open trade and the free movement of goods and services, emphasizing its role as a responsible member of the international community.

The head of state stressed that Kazakhstan builds its relationships with all partners on mutual trust, open dialogue, and consideration of each other's interests.

“Trade is a driving force of development and contributes to the prosperity not only of individual countries but of entire regions. Kazakhstan lies at the crossroads of key trade routes connecting East and West, North and South. This is not only a feature of our geographical location but, we can say, part of our historical mission. We must make wise use of this strategic advantage. That is why Kazakhstan is involved in major transport and logistics projects.

Our goal is clear: to continue mutually beneficial cooperation with neighboring countries — our historical partners with whom fate has intertwined us — through strategic transport and logistics initiatives. These efforts will form the basis for a balanced and stable foreign policy,” Tokayev stated.

The president cited a Kazakh proverb: “If you welcome your neighbor, you repay your debt before God.” He emphasized that Kazakhstan maintains friendly relations with all its neighboring countries and places special importance on these ties.

“If our neighbors face hardship or encounter problems, we will never stand aside. We are deeply invested in ensuring peace and stability prevail around us,” he concluded.
