Customs officers suppress illegal trafficking of cigarettes worth more than 1 billion soums
In Surkhandarya, during an inspection of a vehicle, a large batch of smuggled tobacco products was discovered.

At the “Ayritom” border customs post in Surkhandarya region, when a foreign cargo vehicle was passing through the X-ray inspection complex at the customs post, the presence of undeclared cargo items was detected. After this, the vehicle was subjected to customs inspection with the participation of witnesses.
As a result, hidden paper boxes that were not listed in the documents were found in the car trunk. They contained 27,000 packs of three types of cigarettes produced abroad, without excise stamps. The total cost of smuggling amounted to 1 billion 26 million soums.
Currently, customs authorities are conducting additional checks.
