One of these areas, he said, is mining.

“Uzbekistan has huge reserves of mineral resources and critical metals. Our country has colossal resources of gold, copper, tungsten, silver, and uranium. Along with rare and unique minerals, we have deposits of more than 30 rare metals, such as lithium, magnesium, molybdenum, germanium, vanadium and indium,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.

The head of state recalled that strategic cooperation with the European Union in the field of critical raw materials was established in April.

“We are working on similar agreements with the United States of America and Great Britain,” the President of Uzbekistan said.

In this regard, the head of state said, based on modern international experience, the law “On subsoil” will be adopted in a new edition.

“I would like to especially thank the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for its significant assistance in this work,” the president added.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited leading companies to Uzbekistan to implement projects for deep processing of strategic raw materials and create a value chain.

It should be recalled that a few days earlier, the President of Uzbekistan, at a meeting on tasks in the field of geology, noted the importance of exploring new deposits of critical raw materials – lithium, graphite, indium, vanadium, rhenium. He commissioned the development of rare earth metals mining projects worth $500 million.
