Uzbekistan introduces new fine for drivers

Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility”.
Based on the aforementioned law, relevant amendments were made to Article 135 of the Administrative Responsibility Code. According to the changes, if the drivers of vehicles of legal entities that carry passengers or cargoes do not have a certificate of professional development, they will pay a fine in the amount of one MMW.
The above change will take effect after three months from the date of its official publication, that is, from August 3 of the current year.
It is worth recalling that the government decree of September 2017 ordered the Ministry of Justice to make proposals for the introduction of administrative liability from July 1, 2018 for drivers who drive vehicles owned by legal entities without a certificate of Avtotest Report LLC.
