From January to June of this year, Uzbekistan exported 311,000 tons of fruits worth $368.6 million, according to Ugiloy Boltabayeva, press secretary of the Agency for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex.

This marks a 43% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when exports amounted to 216,700 tons valued at $260 million.

The breakdown of major fruit exports includes:

  • Cherries and sweet cherries: $96.8 million (42,100 tons) – 11% of total fruit exports;
  • Apples: $6.7 million (13,300 tons) – 3.6%;
  • Plums: $10 million (14,600 tons) – 3.9%;
  • Apricots: $41 million (54,100 tons) – 15%.

Currently, Uzbekistan operates 88 agro-logistics centers that handle fruit and vegetable products, with 54 of them actively in service.

This year, the country plans to launch 10 new agro-logistics centers, four of which have already begun operating in Surkhandarya, Navoi, Samarkand, and Fergana regions.

The Agency also proposed a series of initiatives, including:

  • Scaling up small-scale fruit production and packaging projects in accordance with European standards across the regions;
  • Reducing pre-export processing costs in logistics centers and partially subsidizing packaging expenses;
  • Exploring the Chinese market, creating national fruit brands, and supporting participation of exporters and logistics hubs in international exhibitions;
  • Expanding partnerships with developed countries to boost seedless grape exports.
