This year, the Committee and its regional departments received numerous complaints from citizens regarding waste collection services. As a result, measures are now being taken to reimburse a total of 2 billion UZS that were collected without proper grounds.
An analysis of over ten complaints from residents of Kuva district in the Fergana region revealed several violations: waste was not collected from some households, payment rates were not aligned with the actual number of residents, and services were not provided according to the scheduled timetable. In one case, a household with only two residents was charged for five people, despite no waste being collected.
It was also found that Tozalik Sanitar Servis LLC applied new tariffs without properly informing the public. Due to this, the Kuva district branch charged excessively high rates during 2024–2025, resulting in more than 264 million UZS in overpayments. The Fergana city branch similarly overcharged nearly 17 million UZS.
Furthermore, in the neighborhoods of Baynalminnal, Jalayer, Iftikhor, Katta Qashqar, Mustaqillik, Namuna, and Sufi in Kuva district, services were not provided in accordance with Resolution No. 95 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated February 6, 2019. This led to an additional 1.7 billion UZS being wrongly charged.
"In light of the above, it has been determined that more than 2 billion UZS have been unjustly collected from residents in the Fergana region for waste collection services. A directive has been issued to return the improperly charged amounts to consumers," the statement said.
