The incident occurred at the Ekibastuz energy hub due to adverse weather conditions, which led to the emergency shutdown of a 500 kV transmission line. This disruption had a direct impact on Uzbekistan’s power supply.
As a result, frequency fluctuations were observed across the regional energy network. The Ministry noted: “To manage the emergency situation, short-term forced restrictions were temporarily introduced in some areas. By 7:30 PM, the malfunction in the 500 kV transmission line was resolved and electricity supply was restored.”
