Uzbekistan, IAEA agree on cooperation priorities for nuclear infrastructure development
The second meeting between experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Uzbekistan's delegation on the implementation of the Integrated Work Plan (IWP) for 2025–2027 was held at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna.

During the consultations, the sides discussed key priorities for developing Uzbekistan's national nuclear infrastructure. Topics included the regulatory and legal framework, safety issues, human resource training, and environmental considerations.
Particular attention was given to the upcoming Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR) mission scheduled for 2026, the organization of public hearings, and the development of small modular reactors.
IAEA representatives praised Uzbekistan's comprehensive approach and reaffirmed their readiness to continue providing technical support.
