Driver seriously injured in crash with traffic police car, still in coma after two months

The traffic accident occurred in Pop district, where a Cobalt vehicle attempting to turn from the main road onto a side street collided with a traffic police car traveling in its designated lane. As a result, the Cobalt driver sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized. An internal investigation was conducted regarding the traffic officer involved, and it was concluded that his actions did not constitute a criminal offense.

The accident took place on the morning of February 19, 2025, in the Pop district and involved a Cobalt and a traffic police vehicle. The Cobalt driver's relatives shared details of the incident with Kun.uz.

The service vehicle was driven by traffic officer Farhod Mamajonov. As a result of the crash, the Cobalt driver — Bahrom Dadaboyev, born in 1983 — suffered serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit.

“He has been in a coma ever since. His condition is critical. Doctors recently said he briefly opened and closed his eyes, but his condition has worsened again,” a close relative of the driver told Kun.uz.

Relatives of Bahrom Dadaboyev have expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that the traffic officer has not checked on the victim or offered any assistance.

To clarify the situation, Kun.uz contacted Zoyir Yoldoshev, head of the press service of the Traffic Safety Department. According to him, the officer was driving the service vehicle in his designated lane when the Cobalt, turning from the main road, suddenly entered his path.

“The traffic officer, out of human decency, went to the hospital to inquire about the Cobalt driver's condition. However, due to a confrontation with the victim's relatives, he did not return,” said Zoyir Yoldoshev.

He also stated that an internal investigation was carried out regarding officer Farhod Mamajonov, and it was concluded that there were no signs of criminal conduct in his actions.
