Uzbekistan and Vietnam discuss possible visa-free travel to boost ties
On April 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with a delegation led by Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Tran Thanh Man, who is on an official visit to the country.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of the Vietnamese delegation conveyed greetings to the Uzbek leader on behalf of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The sides discussed in detail the development of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, particularly in the areas of trade, economy, and investment.
The need to establish a systematic framework for intergovernmental and interagency dialogue was emphasized. It was noted that this year’s meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the business forum in Hanoi must be held effectively.
The parties agreed to prepare a comprehensive program for industrial cooperation to advance new joint projects in energy, geology, petrochemicals, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture, and other sectors.
Special attention was given to enhancing cultural and tourism exchanges, including through the potential introduction of a visa-free regime.
To ensure the practical implementation of joint initiatives, both sides committed to strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue.
