In February 2025, consumers in Uzbekistan received cashback payments exceeding 86.9 billion UZS for 116.4 million receipts, according to the State Tax Committee’s press service.

The highest amount of cashback was distributed in Tashkent, totaling 37.6 billion UZS.
Tashkent region ranked second with 8.4 billion UZS, followed by Samarkand region, which received 7.4 billion UZS.
Additionally, cashback payments amounted to 5.3 billion UZS in Fergana region and 4 billion UZS in Andijan region.

As part of proposed reforms, Uzbekistan may discontinue cashback for cash payments starting July 1, 2025. This measure is outlined in a draft presidential decree on comprehensive actions to combat the shadow economy.
According to the draft document, consumers making payments via mobile applications (cashless transactions) or bank cards in retail, service, and food sectors will continue to receive 1% cashback. However, cashback will no longer be available for cash payments.
For reference, Uzbekistan introduced cashback for receipts in retail, food service, and household service sectors in 2022.
Starting from January 2024, a limit was imposed on the total cashback amount consumers could receive at the 1% rate.
