"Great news for our Uzbek language (state language) teachers in schools.
A presidential decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been issued on the 'State Program for the Implementation of the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy' within the 'Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy.'
According to the decree, starting from February 1, 2025, teaching staff who teach the Uzbek language (state language) in general education institutions under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and hold a relevant certificate in Uzbek language and literature, obtained from the National Knowledge and Skills Assessment System of the Agency for Knowledge and Qualification Assessment, will receive a monthly additional bonus of 50% of their salary rate," the minister's post stated.
For reference, since January 1, 2025, native language teachers in general education schools who hold a national certificate are entitled to a 50% bonus. However, it was previously known that this rule did not apply to Uzbek language teachers instructing in Russian-language classes. An investigation by Kun.uz revealed that the reason for this exclusion was the classification of the Uzbek language and native language as separate academic subjects.
