Gov’t plans to lift 1.5 million citizens out of poverty by year-end
On February 3, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting focused on job creation and attracting investment, emphasizing that 2025 must be a turning point in addressing employment challenges and reducing poverty, according to the press service of the head of state.

It was noted that this year, Uzbekistan plans to provide employment for 5.2 million people, lift 1.5 million citizens out of poverty, attract $42 billion in foreign investments, and increase export volumes to over $30 billion.
Additionally, 8,000 projects worth $14 billion are set to be implemented, creating 272,000 permanent jobs.
Preliminary estimates indicate that last year, Uzbekistan attracted $3 billion in foreign investments. A similar amount is expected in February, alongside the launch of 630 new projects.
The president also stressed the need to accelerate investment efforts and manage each project with a targeted approach. Officials have been instructed to work closely with foreign partners, support entrepreneurs in entering international markets, and integrate more enterprises into export activities.
