"Dovud ota" border crossing temporarily closed for three months for renovation
Starting from February 1, the "Tajen" - "Dovud ota" border crossing points between the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Kazakhstan will be temporarily closed for three months for repairs. The restrictions will not apply to trucks with a total weight exceeding 3.5 tons, according to a statement by Khusan Tangriyev, press secretary of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

The suspension of movement will affect citizens, light vehicles, buses, and trucks with a total weight not exceeding 3.5 tons.
During this period, repair and equipment installation work will be carried out at the border crossing points to ensure the safety of individuals and vehicles, as mandated by Kazakhstan. Travelers and transporters who would normally use the "Tajen" - "Dovud ota" crossing points are advised to use alternative routes, including the "Yallama," "Zangiota (Navoi)," "Oq Oltin," and "Malik" border crossing points.
Individuals can also travel by passenger trains through the "Karakalpakstan" railway crossing point.
